The legacy of Princess Diana will continue to live on! The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are preparing to welcome their bundle of joy, and they want to be the best parents they can be — with the help of the Will’s late mother.

Kate Middleton, 31, has done nothing but impress the public and make the royal family happy since she and Prince William, 31, married in 2011, and their parenting style will seemingly do just the same. They have not only been predicted to be fabulous parents once their baby is born, but they will be especially great because they’ll be taking after the one and only Princess Diana!

Prince William & Kate Middleton To Learn Parenting From Princess Diana

Kate and William are expected to try and give their child a fairly normal upbringing, as Diana did with William. Diana’s low-key parenting method had great impact on William and Prince Harry, according to Princess Margaret‘s official biographer Christopher Warwick, Kate and William would love to be able to do the same.

“William and Harry were very, very fortunate with Diana as a mother because her ideas were so different to the previous generation,” Christopher said, according to Arabia MSN News. “The importance of this to her two sons have been enormous. William will want this for his children.”

Like Diana, Kate didn’t grow up as royalty, so Christopher said she would love to make her child’s life similar to hers.

“[Kate's] childhood was pretty ordinary,” he said. “She won’t want her baby to be the subject of rules and protocol before they need to be.”

Kate Middleton Goes Against Royal Tradition Just Like Princess Diana

Diana was a very hands-on mother with William and Harry — the U.K.’s Express reported that she even walked the boys to school, which was unusual for royal parenting.

Another way Kate plans on emulating the late princess is through breastfeeding! While royals traditionally chose not to breastfeed their children, Princess Diana was reportedly the first royal to breastfeed her first son William. If Kate does decide to breastfeed her newborn, which author Daisy Goodwin suggests she will do during an interview on 20/20: Bringing Up Baby: Royal Edition, she will be following in Princess Diana’s footsteps.

We also know of the Duke and Duchess’ plans of only hiring part-time help for their newborn, as the two want to be hands on parents to their first child. The idea of being present in their child’s life is another similarity that Kate has with Princess Diana, who was also very present in her sons’ lives.

Kate and Diana Lie About Due Date

Clarence House officially announced that Kate and Will are expecting their first child in July, and the Duchess herself narrowed the timeframe down, announcing she was set to give birth “around mid-July.” But the royal baby could be making an appearance earlier than we think, because according to the Daily Telegraph, Kate could have lied about her due date — just like Princess Diana famously did when she gave birth to William!

What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Should Kate and William mirror Princess Diana’s parenting style?
