Devastated girlfriend Lea has issued a public statement following the death of her boyfriend Cory in Vancouver on July 13. See what she said below.

Lea Michele and Cory Monteith appeared very much in love at the time of his sudden and shocking death on July 13. The actress supported him publicly when he entered rehab in late March, but was sadly not with him during his last hours. See the statement she’s made following his death below.

Lea Michele Speaks On Cory Monteith’s Death — Her First Words

Lea’s rep told HollywoodLife.com in a statement: “We ask that everyone kindly respect Lea’s privacy during this devastating time.”

Lea is having a very tough time handling Cory’s death. A source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY:

“She [Lea Michele] is absolutely hysterical and completely inconsolable. She is devastated beyond belief.”

Fans Show Their Support After Cory’s Shocking Death

Fans and celebrities like Demi Lovato have offered thoughts and prayers for Lea. “PrayForLea,” “StayStrongLea” and “RIPCoryMonteith” were all trending topics on Twitter on July 13 and 14.

Demi wrote:  ”#RIPCoryMonteith… So unbelievably tragic. Please #prayforLea..”

Cory’s Camp Speaks Out On His Untimely Death

Cory’s reps are stunned as well, as they mentioned in their own statement:  ”We are in shock and mourning this tragic loss.”

Cory was found alone and dead in his room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in Vancouver after a night of partying with friends. He was 31 years old.

We are all thinking about Lea during this trying and heartbreaking time.
