The cast of HBO’s bloody-good hit series previewed the second half of season six — even if one of them won’t make it to season seven.

With five episodes left before True Blood bows out for another year, the HBO series’ cast had a lot of ground to cover July 20 during the show’s Comic-Con panel. Needless to say, Sookie’s (Anna Paquin) love life and the identity of this season’s buzzed-about victim were among the hottest topics of conversation.

‘True Blood’ Spoilers From Comic-Con

For starters, Anna told the crowd she’s glad Sookie isn’t as much of a “doormat” this season — I assume she’s referring to her bad-ass confrontation with Warlow last week — which means you probably shouldn’t hold out for a reunion between Sookie and Bill (Stephen Moyer) this season, either.

Speaking of complicated relationships, Sam Trammell acknowledged that Sam’s got bad luck in the lady department — “My girlfriends keep getting killed,” he pointed out. “I keep screwing the wrong people!” — so I guess it’s only a matter of time before Jurnee Smollett-Bell‘s character is six feet under, right next to Luna.

And here’s some good news for all you True Blood purists who miss the small-town feel of the first season: New showrunner Brian Buckner really wants to bring that back next season! He also wants to make sure the focus of the show remains on vampires and humans, rather than the billion other types of creatures we’ve met thus far.

Who’s Dying On ‘True Blood’ This Season?

OK, now for the part I know you’ve all been waiting for: While we still don’t know exactly who’s going to meet the true death — assuming it’s even a vampire — this season, the new footage screened at Comic-Con did show Sookie preparing to make a speech at a funeral. So, not only can we rule out Sookie being the victim, but we can also assume the departed is someone close to her. I mean, you wouldn’t expect her to give Pam (Kristin Bauer Van Straten) a eulogy, would you?

HollywoodLifers, what do you think will happen in the rest of season six? Who do you think will end up being the much-hyped victim? Drop a comment with your thoughts and predictions.
