In a smart casting move, the producers of the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey went with a relative unknown for the role of Anastasia Steele, choosing Dakota Johnson, 23. Before you start picturing this blonde starlet becoming the Fifty Shades protagonist, here are some things you should know about her. Dakota Johnson: 5 Things To Know About ‘Fifty Shafes Of Grey’ Star 1. She’s Hollywood Royalty Dakota has serious pedigree! The young actress is the daughter of Miami Vice star Don Johnson and actress Melanie Griffith. But that’s not all — Dakota is also the granddaughter of the iconic Birds actress, Tippi Hedren. And ever since her mother married Antonio Banderas in 1996, he has been her stepfather! That’s a pretty star-studded family. 2. Last Time You Saw Her She Was A Mother Dakota’s biggest and most recent role — before Fifty Shades of Grey of course — was as Kate Fox in Fox’s Ben and Kate.
