The cyclist’s life just keeps getting worse, not only is he not a Tour de France winner, the medal he won at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney doesn’t count either.

Lance Armstrong has fallen on more hard times. The head of the International Olympic Committee has just revealed that Lance is no longer an Olympic medalist — he has to return the bronze medal he won at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.

Lance Stripped Of Titles

The cyclist is being stripped of titles left and right. In October, the International Cycling Union stripped Lance of his seven Tour de France titles. Now the International Olympic Committee has taken his bronze medal away.

The Own Network released a statement: “They continued: "Winfrey will speak with Armstrong at his home in Austin, Texas, in his only interview since the seven-time Tour de France winner was stripped of his titles and dropped from millions of dollars in endorsement deals after the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency released an extensive report accusing the renowned cyclist of doping throughout his career. Armstrong was given a lifetime ban on competing professionally. Late last year, Armstrong resigned as chairman of the foundation he created, Livestrong, which has raised hundreds of millions of dollars in the fight against cancer.”

Lance Admits To Doping In Oprah Interview

Lance sat down with Oprah on Jan. 14 in an interview set to air on Jan. 17. In the interview he talks about how he did use performance enhancing drugs. It was said to be a tearful interview and he even apologized to the Livestrong staff too.

On October 17, 2012, Lance issued a statement when he resigned from Livestrong:

“This organization, its mission and its supporters are incredibly dear to my heart. Today therefore, to spare the foundation any negative effects as a result of controversy surrounding my cycling career, I will conclude my chairmanship. As my cancer treatment was drawing to an end, I created a foundation to serve people affected by cancer. It has been a great privilege to help grow it from a dream into an organization that today has served 2.5 million people and helped spur a cultural shift in how the world views cancer survivors.”

The 90-minute special will air on OWN on January 17 at 9pm EST.
