We all better get used to looking at Emma Watson as more than the cute girl from those Harry Potter movies. It appears that she’ll be starring in the film version of Fifty Shades of Grey!
Emma Watson: Is She Anastasia Steele?
The hacker collective known as Anonymous managed to crack into the database of German studio Constantin Films and unearth several documents. There was one of supreme interest — a document from Focus Features that reportedly noted that Emma was signed on to star in the adaptation of the wild, sexy best-selling book.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Constantin confirmed that they had been hacked, but downplayed the importance of the internet theft by saying that the only documents obtained by Anonymous were old and hardly top secret. But are they just trying to cover their tracks?
If this is confirmed, we’d be totally thrilled. Emma, in her work throughout Harry Potter and then more mature movies like Perks of Being a Wallflower, has proven that she has the perfect mixture of innocence, cool, and ferocity needed to capture Anastasia Steele on screen. It would definitely be a new challenge for her, but we’re pretty sure she’d nail it.
Ian Somerhalder: Will He Join Emma Watson On Screen?
The rumors for Fifty Shades of Grey’s male lead, the notorious Christian Grey, are beginning to ramp up as well. On Mar. 13, Vampire Diaries hunk Ian Somerhalder sat down with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live and tried to play it cool in regards to his chances of taking on the role: “There are so many young boys in Hollywood up for this role,” Ian quipped. “I can't say anything other than it's a very interesting story, and whoever plays that role is going to have a lot of fun [come] rehearsal time."
We saw the twinkle in his eye, though, and think he might be hiding something. So could it be — Ian Somerhalder and Emma Watson as the sexy on-screen couple? We’re on board.
