A Brooklyn baby boy, who was delivered alive via C-section after his parents were struck and killed in a car accident on the way to the hospital on March 3, tragically died a day later. So sad.
An Orthodox Jewish community in Williamsburg, Brooklyn is grieving the loss of three members now after the miracle baby boy, who survived a deadly car crash that killed his parents, also died as a result of the accident. Nachman and Raizy Glauber were killed in an accident in Brooklyn on March 3 after a BMW struck the cab carrying the couple, who were on their way to the hospital after the pregnant woman fell ill.
Raizy was thrown from the car and her body landed under a parked tractor-trailer, witnesses told NBC 4 New York, and Nachman was pinned to the car and had to be cut out by emergency workers. Nachman was pronounced dead at Beth Israel Hospital, and his wife died at Bellevue hospital.
The premature baby was delivered alive at the scene via C-section, and was transported to a local hospital where he remained in critical condition. He was pronounced dead a day later.
Police are still searching for the driver who struck the cab in the hit-and-run accident, which occurred at the intersection of Wilson Street and Kent Avenue in Brooklyn. Authorities believe a male driver and a female passenger were in the car, and then fled the scene on foot, according to NBC 4 New York.
Takia Walker, 29, is the owner of the car, but she was not driving at the time of the accident. She was arrested on March 4 for insurance fraud charge and for allowing a third party to drive her vehicle, who was not covered under her insurance policy.
