Porsha Stewart’s ‘Heart Is Broken’ Over Divorce
Porsha responded to Kordell’s filing for divorce on Mar. 29 by legally requesting alimony and additional relief. She is also asking to be allowed to stay in the home she and Kordell shared.
In the court documents, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star details how she sold her business to raise Kordell’s son, Syre, full time, a decision that reduced her personal financial earnings significantly.
Porsha’s demands are not out of malice — she simply wants what she is owed after going through this devastating heartbreak, a source tells E!.
“Her heart is broken,” the source says. “She opened herself up to being a mom and now this happened.”
Porsha Stewart Demands Alimony: She Raised Kordell Stewart’s Son!
When Kordell filed for divorce, he requested that alimony not be granted, claiming Porsha was “capable of supporting herself,” but Porsha refuses to take the divorce lying down. “She’s standing up for herself, finally,” E!’s source says. “She has stayed in that marriage and in that home all this time because there was a child involved.”
Reportedly, Porsha recognized too that her marriage was falling apart, but she tried to keep things amicable for the sake of Syre: “She put up with everything Kordell did because of Syre,” says the source. Now that Kordell has made moves to split from Porsha and leave her nothing, she is working up the courage to demand that her hard work as a mother to a child that is not even hers be acknowledged.
