The gorgeous mom had planned an intimate at-home water birth with baby Sebastian — but her delivery dream was shattered when she found out her baby was breeched. Read on for more of her revealing interview.
Amber Rose had the birth of her first child perfectly planned out for months — she was going to deliver her son in a water birth at home with a midwife and doula present. But when she found out her baby boy was breeched, the mom-to-be was forced to change her plans.
Amber Rose’s Discovers Her Sebastian Is Breeched
One of Amber’s midwives discovered her baby’s head close to her ribs, and knew something was wrong. Later, a doctor confirmed the news that little Sebastian was breeched. Amber told Ricki Lake on The Ricki Lake Show on April 30 that she wasn’t quite ready to give up on her ideal birth plan.
"I tried mugwort, acupuncture and then my last resort was a version, which is when you go to the hospital and they manually try to turn your baby," she said during her interview. "They push his head down and push his butt up … It hurt a lot. It was very painful. I cried."
Amber Rose Undergoes C-Section
Even though Amber had planned for a water birth for months, the love for her child and the need for a healthy delivery was more important than her dream delivery.
"At that point, after I tried everything, I was like, 'I just want my baby, if I have to have a c-section, fine. But I told Wiz, 'If we go to the hospital and my baby turns around, I'm going back home!' Of course it wasn't … what we wanted to happen, but as mentally prepared as we were for the home birth, we had to get as prepared for the c-section."
Luckily, baby Sebastian was born happy and healthy on Feb. 21, and Amber and Wiz love being parents!
