A 76-year-old grandma finally faced justice in the tragic 1957 death of her 6-month-old daughter. The Wisconsin woman was charged with the maximum sentence for the negligent death.
Ruby C. Klokow, 76, walked into a Wisconsin courtroom expecting to receive 45 days in jail for second-degree murder charges in the 1957 death of her baby girl. But instead of lenience, Judge Angela Sutkiewicz shocked the entire courtroom when she handed out the maximum sentence — 10 years in prison.
Grandma Sentenced To Jail Over Death — What Happened To Her Baby Girl
Ruby was charged on May 2 in the negligent death of her 6-month daughter mysteriously died. The death was ruled an accident at the time, but Ruby revealed in court that she roughly threw her baby girl on the couch, causing her to bounce off to the floor and died.
The case was reopened in 2008 when her son revealed the horrific abuse he suffered at the hands of Ruby, and the case of her baby’s death was investigated again — and she was charged with second-degree murder. In February, Ruby entered a no-contest charge to the plea, and expected to receive 45 days.
Her son also said his mom abused him and his mentally disabled younger brother growing up, including hitting the younger boy’s toes with a hammer.
Ruby C. Klowkow Sentenced To 10 Years
However, Judge Angela Sutkiewicz was clearly disgusted with the case, and handed down the maximum sentence of 10 years in jail.
“What happened to Jeaneen Klokow was no accident. It was caused by the defendant’s reckless actions,” she said, according to the Daily Mail.
We’re so glad justice is finally served. What do YOU think of Judy getting the maximum sentence, HollyMoms? Do you agree?
