Reese and her husband Jim met their legal fate on May 2 for their April 19 arrests in Atlanta.
Reese Witherspoon and her husband Jim Toth are facing the music. TMZ is reporting that the happy couple have entered their pleas in court.
Reese Witherspoon & Husband Jim Toth Plead Guilty In Court To DUI
Reese plead no contest and her husband plead guilty. Remember, this stems from when Jim was driving in Atlanta on April 19, and the officer pulled him over. He then arrested Reese because she wouldn’t stay in the car and then proceeded to say: “Do you know my name?”
Reese was not in court, but she was in NYC talking about the ordeal on GMA. Her lawyer was present and so was Jim. Reese was sentenced to a $213 fine.
Jim will not go to jail but he was to perform 40 hours of community service, attend an alcohol education program and be on probation for a year.
The judge said: “Consider yourself fortunate you didn’t injure your passenger [Reese] and didn’t kill anyone.”
But she isn’t in the clear, she has been ordered to show up to court on May 22. The couple are parents to a son Tennessee James Toth and she has two other kids, Ava, 13, and Deacon, 9.
Do you think that Reese and her husband got off easy because they are celebrities. A lot of people feel that Reese and Jim should have gotten a tougher sentencing. But at least they are facing the situation and admitting to their mistakes.
