Chris Brown‘s split from his on-again, off-again girlfriend Rihanna must be permanent (for now), because he attended the 2013 Billboard Music Awards completely solo! But since Rihanna is nominated for 10 awards, do you think she will make a surprise appearance later on?

It looks like Chris is trying to stay away from girl drama completely, because he didn’t bring anyone as his date to the awards show — not even his former flame Karrueche Tran.
But Chris and Karrueche have seemingly rekindled their old flame, especially after Chris sent his ex a happy birthday message on Twitter: "Happy bday @karrueche," Chris tweeted on May 17. He later deleted the message.
Sources tell HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that Chris still loves Karrueche! Is he finally over Rihanna?
"I don't know if he's in love with her but he loves her," the source reveals. "Being in love with someone is different than loving them. He's just trying to look out for her as best as he can right now. Chris has a soft spot for her, but that's about it these days."
But even though Chris and Karrueche have been hanging out and talking on social media, he didn’t show up to Karrueche’s birthday party on May 18!
The pop star also performed the catchy single Fine China at the awards show, which has been rumored to be about Karrueche. But if Chris doesn’t get back together with Karrueche, is there still hope for a reconciliation with Rihanna?
