Kate Middleton may have married into royalty, but she’s still sticking to her commoner roots! The excited mom-to-be is having so much fun decorating and furnishing her baby’s nursery, but the heir to the throne’s new room will be more down-to-earth than extravagant.
Kate Middleton’s Baby Nursery
Kate and her husband of two years Prince William, have been living in Nottingham Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace, which is a modest two-bedroom abode. They’ll stay in the cozy cottage while they await for their elaborate 20-bedroom apartment at 1A in Kensington Palace to be completed — and will be there when their first child arrives.
“They have a small nursery prepped, but it’s humble,” a source close to the royal couple tells Us Weekly. “Kate felt it wasn’t worth the money to go all-out.”
The insider also revealed that Kate wants to be super close to her baby, especially in the crucial first few bonding weeks.
“For the precious first weeks, Kate wants the baby to sleep in their room,” the source reveals.
Kate Middleton & Prince William’s Elaborate Nursery At Apartment 1A
But even though their nursery in Nottingham Cottage will be more modest, the source says the baby nursery at apartment 1A will undoubtedly be more extravagant – but she isn’t divulging the details just yet.
“She is keeping it a surprise, even to family,” the source says. “It’s beautifully decorated, and there has been some involvement from an artist.”
