When will Lindsay Lohan learn? The 26-year-old actress has violated her plea deal by hopping a plane to California, and could face potential jail time for her decision. We already told you that Lindsay was planning to go to Morningside Recovery in Newport Beach, Calif. instead of her assigned rehab facility in New York, and now she’s on her way there!
Lindsay Lohan Violates Plea Deal & Flies To California
Lindsay boarded a private plane in NYC heading for California, according to TMZ. She is expected to serve her court ordered rehab at Morningside Recovery, and prosecutors have not signed off on Lindsay’s change in rehab facilities.
Lindsay was ordered by the court to attend Seafield Center in Westhampton Beach, NY, but she freaked out when she found out that Seafield wouldn’t allow her to smoke. Lindsay chose to go to Morningside Recovery instead because she would be able to smoke at that facility.
By flying to California, Lindsay has violated her plea deal. Lindsay’s attorneys are supposed to present proof of enrollment at Seafield on May 2. If the judge thinks Lindsay has violated her plea deal, he can send her to jail for 90 days.
Michael Lohan Thinks Going To Morningside Is A Mistake
HollywoodLife.com spoke to Lindsay's dad, Michael Lohan, and he told us he disagrees with Lindsay’s decision to go to Morningside.
“Lindsay has communicated to me and even the owners and clinicians at The Lukens Institute in Palm Beach that she wants to go there," Michael tell us. "But Mark Heller [Lindsay's attorney] cut a deal to get a referral fee if she goes to Morningside in Newport Beach. Ironically, the same rehab who has had mutiple legal issues and even leaked that she was going there about a year ago but never did. Although the City Attorney will allow Lindsay to go to Lukens, Mark lied to her and said she she is not approved. Why? Because Lukens doesn't pay off people like Morningside does! If Lindsay wants real treatment and the best treatment, she will go to Lukens like she wants.”
