After suffering another life threatening seizure on April 30, which landed Lil Wayne back in the hospital, the 30-year-old rapper has decided to change his partying ways.
Lil Wayne: Seizures Scared Him
Lil Wayne was rushed to Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles on April 30 after suffering another seizure, which lead many to believe he’s still drinking and partying. HollywoodLife.com has learned, however, the real reason behind Wayne’s most recent life threatening seizure.
“It’s more of a history of him having seizures more than it is him partying and drinking and doing things that would trigger a seizure,” a source close to Lil Wayne tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “He’s been very open and upfront about his seizures and has been suffering from those types of episodes since he was a kid.”
Lil Wayne Hospitalized For Six Days
As we told you back in March, Lil Wayne spent six days in the ICU after suffering multiple seizures. A report claimed that Lil Wayne suffered multiple seizures after he drank sizzurp, a "bootleg" syrup that was apparently given to him by a friend. The drink is reportedly a mix of promethazine and codeine, both of which are strong pain medications.
Sources close to Wayne tell us that after the March incident, Wayne was extremely “scared” for his life and vowed to cut back on the heavy partying.
“I know that when he was in the hospital back in March, that was an eye opening experience for him and changed the way he sees life,” the source says. “He’s young and a lot of people depend on him so it was important for him to keep a brave face but deep down, he was scared. That was a case of him being neglectful toward his health.”
