Fifty-one of the nation’s loveliest ladies assembled in Las Vegas on June 16 for the 2013 Miss USA Competition, igniting a competition of beauty, brains — and, of course, bikinis! But did the right woman take home the crown? Read on for HollywoodLife.com‘s full review of the judges, the performances and the newly crowned Miss USA.
Erin Brady: Miss USA Winner 2013
While we’re used to a top five, this year was a bit different. After Miss Utah, Alabama, Illinois, South Carolina and Connecticut were chosen as the final five, Giuliana Rancic surprised the remaining contestants by letting them know that viewers at home voted for a sixth on Twitter! The extra finalist was Ali Negent from Texas.
After the long wait a new winner was crowned! It came down to Miss Alabama and Miss Connecticut!
It was a night of thrills and surprises – Erin Brady (Miss Connecticut) ended up taking home the crown!
Giuliana Rancic & Nick Jonas: Perfect Co-Hosts
Giuliana and Nick Jonas were on hand to host the big event, and honestly, we can’t think of two people more qualified for the job. Giuliana always leaves us in stitches when she gets real on E!’s Fashion Police, and she definitely kept the mood light as she judged the Miss USA contestants.
As for Nick, the youngest Jonas Brother has proven time and again that he’s got great taste in women. (Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus, anyone?)

But Nick did more than just host the big event; he also delivered an incredible performance! Together with Kevin and Joe Jonas, the fully-formed Jonas Brothers tore up the Miss USA stage with a medley including “Pom Poms,” “First Time,” and new song “Neon.” Even after all these years, the JoBros still know how to make us swoon — even with 15 gorgeous women flaunting their bikini bods to their music!
And honestly, how could America possibly objectify a gaggle of gorgeous women in bikinis without a little help from DJ Pauly D? With no grenades in sight, former Jersey Shore star lent his table-turning skills to the big event for a get-up-and-shake-your-ass performance of his own.
