Rock ‘n’ roll love! After about a year-long engagement Avril and Chad tied the knot during an intimate ceremony in Cannes, France on June 29.
Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger have made it official, getting married on June 29 in Cannes, France! They are now the most famous Canadian rocker husband and wife (at least in our minds).

The two musicians tied the knot in a “very intimate affair,” according to Us Weekly. Avril, 28, reportedly wore a custom-made dress by Johanna Johnson and her gay friend served as her maid of honor.
Looks like it’s time to hear that wedding song — the singer revealed that she and Chad, 38, recorded a new song together that would be their ceremonial tune in an interview with Nylon magazine. “We’ll have to release it after,” she said.
Avril also revealed that she had been doing all the planning for the big day. “I’m the one who has the crazy vision and he’s letting me be me. It’s a lot and I just want to make sure I really enjoy this amazing time,” the singer said.
She also added, “I want all the guests who come to have this once in a lifetime experience and I want everyone to say ‘Wow!’ and for it to be special for everyone, not just us.” We’re sure she accomplished that mission — on the secret wedding location in Cannes, Avril explained it as “out of control.”
Chad and Avril announced their engagement in August 2012. This is Chad’s first marriage and Avril’s second. She was previously married to Deryk Whibley of Sum 41 for three years before divorcing in 2009.
