Following the heartbreaking death of Demi Lovato’s father, the ‘X Factor’ judge is being consoled by her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Wilmer Valderrama, a source tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively. We’re so glad she has a loving shoulder to lean on during this difficult time.
Demi Lovato missed the June 24 auditions, for season three of The X Factor, after she learned her estranged father, Patrick Lovato, passed away. Since then, Demi has been getting a lot of support from Wilmer Valderrama, friends and co-workers.

Wilmer is doing his best to console Demi. “[Wilmer] is her rock and he has been in constant contact with her, both by text and in person, during this difficult time and he’ll continue to be her shoulder to cry on,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively.
Demi’s friends, from the set of The X Factor, also have her back. Not only did Simon Cowell tweet, “My thoughts are with you Demi,” but HollywoodLife.com has also EXCLUSIVELY learned, “[the show is] going to give her all the time she needs to mourn and take care of that sad situation. She can return when she is ready.”

Following her father’s death on June 23, Demi took to Twitter to make sure her fans were aware that she’s “humbled” by their support. She said, ”I feel so humbled to have had so much support from my fans, friends, family and complete strangers. God bless you all, thank you so much love.”
Furthermore, Demi’s sister, Dallas, tweeted, “Rest in peace Daddy, I love you…”
Demi has not talked to her father in nearly five years. “The last time I talked to him was two years ago, you try to have faith in somebody, even when you’re the last person that believes in him. But when somebody lets you down after you’ve been the only one there for them, and so many times, you don’t know what else to do,” she once said.
Though Demi’s father has been battling cancer for a few years, officials have yet to determine the cause of death for the 53 year old.
Our thoughts go out to Demi and her entire family. This is so sad.
