Stick a fork in Paula Deen — she’s cooked. Two days after the Food Network decided to let the southern chef go for using the N-word, QVC is monitoring the situation and may take the same action.
Paula Deen was dropped from the Food Network on June 21, after she admitted in a deposition to using the N-word and wanting to host a Civil War-era wedding party with only black waiters. Now, it’s being reported that QVC may drop the southern chef as well.
Paula Deen: QVC May Drop Chef After Racist Comments
“QVC shares the concerns being raised around the unfortunate Paula Deen situation,” the home shopping network said in a statement, shared by E! News.
“QVC does not tolerate discriminatory behavior. We are closely monitoring these events and the ongoing litigation. We are reviewing our business relationship with Ms. Deen, and in the meantime, we have no immediate plans to have her appear on QVC,” they added.
The network currently features Paula Deen’s Kitchen, which sells the star’s collection of cookbooks, bakeware, cookware and kitchen tools.
Paula Deen Releases Statement About Using Racial Slur
Paula released two apology videos on June 21, before she was dropped from the Food Network.
"I want to apologize to everybody for the wrong that I've done," Paula said in one of her videos. "I want to learn and grow from this … Inappropriate, hurtful language is totally, totally unacceptable."
Since then, fans have expressed their outrage over the network letting Paula go. Will QVC receive the same backlash if they let Paula go as well?
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Should QVC drop Paula Deen?
