Plus, Aria wastes no time getting over Mr. Fitz — with another teacher! (Girl’s got a type.)

Mrs. DiLaurentis came bearing gifts on the June 18 episode of Pretty Little Liars – really creepy gifts. Apparently Alison (Sasha Pieterse) had a pet parrot that no one knew about, so of course she decided to dump it onto Ali’s “hefty” BFF Hanna (Ashley Benson). And this wasn’t your run-of-the-mill obnoxious bird; it might just hold the key to figuring out who killed Alison!

Spencer (Troian Bellisario) figured out the bird was whistling a phone-number tone — let’s not pretend like she isn’t the only smart one in the bunch – but “A” got its/their hands on the bird before the girls had a chance to decipher its melody.

Considering Spencer’s so smart, I was surprised she got rejected from the University of Pennsylvania. Maybe she should have applied to major in ornithology, or you know, actually do homework once in a while.

Aria’s Hot For Teacher — Again

They say the best way to get over someone is to get under someone else, and that’s exactly what Aria (Lucy Hale) did this week — even if she didn’t mean to. Her private self-defense lesson with super-hot instructor Jake (Ryan Guzman) started off well, but it took an awkward turn when she suddenly sneak-attacked him with her mouth.

Sorry, did you expect Aria not to hook up with the hot teacher? While he’s no Ezra (Ian Harding), at least Jake’s in Aria’s age range.

(A legal relationship for Aria? What a novel concept!)

Did Ashley Kill Wilden?

Either Rosewood suddenly became a suburb of New York City, or Hanna’s mom wasn’t out of town for as long as she claimed. After finding a pair of muddy heels in the house, Hanna straight-up asked Ashley (Laura Leighton) if she’s the one who killed Detective Wilden (Bryce Johnson). She denied the allegation, obvs, but seemed far-less-innocent while attempting to dipose of her incriminating footwear later that night.

As much as I’d love to jump on the Ashley bandwagon, I feel like her involvement would be too easy. There’s a reason this show keeps us all up at night – nothing is obvious!

Hell & High Water

A near-death encounter with “A” in the woods left Emily (Shay Mitchell) all banged up – why do these girls insist on hanging out in the woods at night?! — but like the determined little liar she is, she refused to sit out of her big swim meet. After all, her dream of attending Stanford with Paige (Lindsey Shaw) was on the line!

Sadly, pushing herself too hard ended up sending Em to the hospital, where she had plenty of time to think about her actions. She’s still determined to start a new life – far, far away from Rosewood — with Paige, but she’ll also start taking it easy. She’ll be no use to anyone if she’s dead.

HollywoodLifers, what did you think of this week’s episode? Did Ashley kill Wilden? Who was Alison calling the night she disappeared? Drop a comment with your best theories below!
