If anyone knows about expensive homes, it’s ‘Million Dollar Listings’ star Ryan Serhant!
We already told you the exclusive scoop about this season of Million Dollar Listings: New York. Now, agent Ryan Serhant is revealing all the details about the celebrity hotspot of the summer — the Hamptons.
Why Celebs Love The Hamptons
While New York City is fabulous, it’s a busy, crazy, city and it’s not easy to get away — unless you have the money to head to the Hamptons for a long weekend.
“There’s any understanding of privacy there,” Ryan exclusively told HollywoodLife.com. “It’s friends buying friends’ places. It’s beautiful, it’s close to New York City, maybe 1-1/2 max to the greatest city in the world.”
Two of those “friends” include Jerry Seinfeld and Billy Joel. Jerry bought Billy’s $32 million place — which was a 12-acre estate with “a baseball diamond and a 22-car garage!
However, not everyone is using it for a vacation spot:
It can be a place to get away if that’s what you want it for. You can relax, and it’s a big networking place. People get business done over the summer, have dinners, go to restaurants and nightclubs — literally all the power shakers in New York pick up & go to the Hamptons.
Other celebs love the Hamptons, too! Ryan told us that Jay Z and Beyonce rented a summer home last year — for $400,000 a month.
He also pointed out that you can purchase it for a measly $43 million. These homes are fully furnished, gated, in a gorgeous community of course.
He also revealed that Hugh Jackman is looking for a place there, and Jennifer Lopez has a $10-million home. also in the Hamptons.
