After Jay-Z dissed Miley on Twitter and on his new album for her twerking, the legendary rapper did a 180, praising Miley for ‘expressing herself’ in his interview with Hot 97.
Jay-Z and Miley Cyrus recently traded disses on Twitter about her trademark risqué dance move, but Hova changed his tune in a new radio interview with Hot 97, calling Miley “fearless” and giving the pop star props for “expressing herself” through her twerking.
Jay-Z Says Defends Miley Cyrus’ Twerking, Says She’s ‘Just Being Herself’
Jay-Z stopped by Hot 97 on July 9 to chat with his longtime friend, radio personality Angie Martinez, who asked him what he thought of Miley’s twerking.
Despite tweeting that Miley, 20, is “an old world's worst nightmare,” the legendary 43-year-old rapper came to Miley’s defense in the interview, saying,”[She's] just being herself, expressing herself.”
When Angie said some people think Miley is actually just imitating Rihanna and other hip-hop stars, Jay-Z defended Miley further, arguing that people are just upset that she’s not her former Disney alter ego Hannah Montana anymore.
“People want her to be something and she’s like, ‘I’m not that…You want me to be 6 years old forever?” he said. “That must be frustrating. And this is her reaction to it.”
After all the Twitter feuding, it’s so nice to hear Jay-Z defend Miley and applaud her for being true to herself!
Does Jay-Z Want To Work With Miley Cyrus?
Jay-Z is obviously a converted Miley fan, and he admires her for her moxy and her struggle to become a more mature artist.
She probably had a lot of people telling her, “‘You can’t say this, you can’t say that,’” Jay-Z said. “And she just broke out and was like ‘I’m doing this: twerking.’”
During a question-and-answer session with fans on July 8, Jay-Z tweeted, “Miley is a GOD". At the time, we thought he was being sarcastic, but maybe he sincerely worships Miley’s moves!
When Angie asked if Jay-Z if he would ever consider managing Miley, Hova laughed and said, “Hey, there’s room on the roster.”
Miley and Jay-Z would be an interesting professional pairing, especially given Miley’s recent efforts to cultivate a more urban image. Maybe Miley could even teach old Mr. Carter how to twerk!
