The July 29 episode The Bachelorette was truly shocking, as fans of the romantic show saw frontrunner Brooks Forester break Desiree Hartsock‘s heart when he told her that he didn’t love her and left the show. The man who we all thought was going to win Des’ hand in marriage devastated her, so we made a timeline of their most memorable moments, including their first date, and when Des realized she was in love. 1) The Moment Brooks Forester & Desiree Hartsock Met
Sparks flew when Desiree and Brooks first met, and it was so adorable when he told her he was “nervous.” Brooks and Desiree had instant chemistry, and he told her that looked “so stunning,” when he arrived at the Bachelorette mansion.
This was just the beginning of a beautiful romance!
2) Brooks & Des’ First Date
Brooks got the very first one on one date on the show, and he and Desiree tried on wedding outfits, and they looked pretty picture perfect! Des and Brooks then took their love to the Hollywood sign, where they kissed for the first time as the sun was setting.
3) Brooks Forester Strips Down For Desiree
Looking good Brooks! During the Mr. America pageant in Atlantic city, Brooks looked damn fine in a bathing suit, and he came in third place for his singing. During this ridiculous competition, Brooks proved that he has got brains AND a good body.
4) Brooks Defends Desiree Hartsock From ‘Bachelorette’ Villain
In Spain, Brooks and Des got closer during a game of soccer. When all the guys decided to confront this season’s villain James Case, Brooks was a knight in shining armor for Des, who cried when she learned that James just wanted to be the next Bachelor.
5) Desiree Hartsock Realizes She Loves Brooks In Madeira
On the romantic island of Madeira, Des and Brooks went for a romantic date up a mountain, where they were literally emerged in clouds. They yelled “We’re on top of the world,” and later at dinner, both physical and metaphorical fireworks exploded.
Before the rose ceremony, Des told Chris Harrison that she is in love with Brooks, and it is clear that there was only ever one winner for Desiree.
6) Brooks Breaks Desiree’s Heart In Antigua
And then it all came crashing down. On the semi finale, Brooks decided to leave, and broke Desiree’s heart. He told her that he did not "feel it," and that he did not see them "lasting after" the show is over. He also said he needed "more time." Des cried at the end of the dock, and there is no way of knowing what will happen on the August 5 finale.
