How heart-wrenching. On August 17, friends and co-workers of the ‘Bachelor’ star gathered in New Orleans to pay tribute after she tragically took her own life earlier in the week.

Gia Allemand clearly made an enormous impact on everyone she came across during her 29 years of life. The people she was closest to came together on August 17 to remember her with a touching service.

Gia Allemand: Friends Pay Tribute With Touching Ceremony

About 50 people, friends and co-workers of Gia’s, gathered near the Mississippi River in New Orleans, Louisiana to mourn and pay their respects to the Bachelor star. The service was reportedly organized by people from Pure Barre gym, where Gia worked as a fitness instructor, according to Mail Online.

The large group walked mournfully to the water’s edge, where they threw white flowers into the river, a sign of remembrance according to the memorial’s invitation:

Today, we wear this white ribbon in Gia’s honor. Please join us in prayer as we toss white flowers into the river to symbolize that our love and memory of her will continue to flow in our hearts.

It appeared to be a difficult day for all involved, though the group’s gestures speak volumes and really prove how loved and respected Gia was.

Gia Allemand Dies After Attempted Suicide — Funeral Date Set

The Bachelor star tragically passed away on August 14, two days after she tried to hang and kill herself. She was found by her mother and boyfriend, NBA player Ryan Anderson, who rushed her to a hospital, but it was unfortunately too late to save her.

After Gia passed, Ryan released a grief-stricken statement:

I'm deeply grateful for all the love and support we have received from family, friends and fans. Gia was the most beautiful person I knew inside and out and she always smiled and made everyone else around her smile. She had such an amazing impact on my life and anyone that knew her was blessed. All I have left is to cherish those memories we made together and help perpetuate the many values, faith and love that we shared.

Plans have also been made for Gia’s funeral. A public visitation will be held on August 21 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Papavero Funeral Home in Maspeth, NY, according to Us Weekly. A day later, a funeral service will take place at Trinity Grace Church of Chelsea in New York City at 11 p.m.

Gia’s death is so unbelievably tragic, but it is uplifting to see so many people come out and pay tribute to her. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her friends and family in this difficult time.
