We all know how passionate One Direction fans are — but are some of them so extreme that they’d actually harm themselves over the boy band?

One Direction fans are very upset about the new documentary, Crazy About One Direction, which they say makes Directioners look like they’re “insane” and “psychos.”After the show aired in the UK on August 15, #RIPLarryShippers began trending on Twitter, along with claims that some fans took their own lives after seeing the documentary. So who is Larry Shippers and what does he have to do with One Direction? Read on for more details about this very strange — and potentially dangerous — phenomenon.

Who Is Larry Shippers? — Did 1D Fans Commit Suicide Over Documentary?

Apparently the name Larry Shippers represents a surprisingly significant subset of 1D fans who believe bandmates Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson are in a romantic relationship. If you think that’s weird, listen to this: rumors are now circulating that 42 fans have committed suicide over Larry Shippers.

Apparently there’s a lot of tension between Larry Shippers and 1D fans who support Louis’ relationship with his girlfriend, Eleanor, and both groups frequently accuse each other of cyber-bullying, according to the Daily Dot.

Is it possible the cyber-enemies of Larry Shippers are behind these rumors?

One Direction Fans Tweet About Larry Shippers Suicides

Dozens of Directioners have been tweeting about fellow fans committing suicide over the documentary, and while it’s possible there were suicides caused by bullying and threats to Larry Shippers fans, there is no evidence of any actual deaths.

The Daily Dot reports:

After some investigation, we were only able to find the Twitter accounts of three fans who are alleged to have taken their own lives: @LovinLarry17, @larrystylincum_, and @harryisatwerk. But while none of these three fans have tweeted in the past twelve hours, there's nothing to suggest that this isn't a case of "pseuicide" ("killing" or deleting an online persona), a phenomenon that one sees fairly often in online fandom.

Phew! Let’s hope that’s all it is. Be careful out there, Directioners! The internet can be a scary place.

What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Are Larry Shippers really committing suicide or is it just a case of pseuicide?
