Selena Gomez obviously had her ex Justin Bieber on her mind when she recorded the bittersweet love song ”Love Will Remember,” and in an interview with “Saturday Night Online”on August 10, she revealed that singing about her on-again, off-again boyfriend wasn’t easy, but it was also a very “liberating” experience.
Selena Gomez’s ‘Love Will Remember’: Singing About Justin Bieber Was ‘Liberating’
Selena confessed in the interview that the Stars Dance tracks ”Love Will Remember” and “Forget Forever” were the hardest songs she’s ever had to record.
“Both of those are really strong tracks and very fun and emotional as well,” Selena says.
Even though it was painful for her to get through the songs, they ultimately set her free.
“It was really liberating,” she adds.
Selena also spoke about “Love Will Remember” in an interview with InStyle magazine, saying:
Obviously, ‘Love Will Remember’ is a personal song to me and I don't really need to say anything. I think my fans will get it. I think people will figure it out themselves.. I'm sure he'll like it too.
We’re so proud of Selena! It must have been really hard for her to work through her feelings about Justin, but it seems like singing about her first love was a great emotional outlet for her.
Selena Gomez Puts Justin Bieber Voicemail In New Song
In “Love Will Remember,” Selena sampled an old voicemail that sounds just like Justin, where he calls her the “love of his life.” In the song, Justin also calls Selena his "princess," and says that they will be together "forever," but the lyrics of the song tell a different story!
Selena calls Justin out for breaking promises, and says they "screwed it up." Yikes!
This is such a personal message, and Selena is so creative to add it to the finished single. She was obviously still feeling bitter about Justin at the time, but now it seems they are on good terms.
