Lea is slowly making her way back to the set of ‘Glee,’ where she is unfortunately reminded of Cory’s tragic death every second. But a source close to the actress tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that she’s persevering, and is even working directly on developing the perfect tribute for her fallen soulmate.

In the wake of Cory Monteith’s tragic death, his girlfriend and co-star Lea Michele is proving herself to be the Glee family’s leader. And even though she’s still suffering unimaginable pain, a source close to the show tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively that she has taken on even more responsibility in the creation of the Cory’s tribute episode.

Lea Michele Leading The Creative Process For Cory Monteith’s Tribute Episode

“The producers are still going back and forth on what they want to do and clearing music for his tribute,” the source says. But most of all, Glee’s creative team is looking to Lea to give the final word on decisions that are being made for this season’s third episode, which will be an emotional tribute to Cory.

“The meetings are lengthy and Lea is a part of them to make sure everything is just right,” says the source.

Lea Michele Filming Glee: ‘Tears Will Happen’

Lea is showing unbelievable strength and courage to spearhead the tribute episode and assume a role of leadership — and remember, she was the one who bravely demanded that filming go on after a short break, just days after Cory’s death — but that doesn’t mean the coming weeks are going to be easy by any means.

“When they start filming the PSAs and the third episode, that is going to be a mess,” the source insists. “After they film that episode they are going to go on a break to recharge.”

“It’s still touch and go for all involved,” says the source, who adds, “Tears can and will happen at anytime.”

But you still have to admire Lea’s utter perseverance. After everything she’s been through, to be able to lift herself up — and lift her whole cast and crew up — is truly amazing.
