How cute! Out at a charity polo event, his first public appearance since Prince George’s birth, Prince William admitted that he was on diaper duty!
We can bet this is the first time a royal said or did something like this! On August 3, Prince William made his first appearance since Kate Middleton gave birth on July 22, where he told reporters that the only thing on his mind was remembering to pick up diapers on the way home.
Prince William Has Diapers On The Mind
Meeting guests after participating at the Audi Polo Challenge in Ascot, England, the new dad reportedly apologized for his subpar performance, admitting, “I was in baby mode out there, thinking about nappies [diapers], I wasn’t really in the zone,” according to Mail Online. The Duke reportedly then added, “I’ve got to pick some up on my way home.”
Prince William, who’s usually so at home at a charity polo match, was showing off his newfound fatherly instincts. Even though he said it was good to get out of the house, he couldn’t help but add, “I’ve got to make sure I’m not too late back.”
William and Kate have been staying with her parents in Bucklebury, England — which is nearby Ascot’s polo grounds — since Prince George’s birth, adjusting to parenthood and getting some time out of the spotlight.
Prince William: Father Of The Year?
We already want to nominate Prince William for father of the year! Not only does he have diapers on his mind at all times, but he reportedly sings the little prince to sleep!
William has found a successful (but strange) way to get the royal baby to sleep, according to The Daily Star:
Prince William is using a bizarre tactic of belting out Coldplay anthems at all hours of the night even though he can barely hold a note.
So for the record, the Duke of Cambridge buys his own diapers and futilely sings “Clocks” to his newborn. We can’t even handle this!
