How awful! Misty VanHorn allegedly tried to sell her two children for cash on Facebook! The young mother requested the money to bail her boyfriend out of jail.
Misty VanHorn did not see herself going to jail for trying to earn bail money for her boyfriend. The young mother has been accused of attempting to sell her two children for $5,000, according to a new report. She allegedly asked for $1,000 for her two-year-old and $4,000 for her four-year-old. Misty is currently being held on $40,000 bond.
Misty Tried Soliciting Donations From Neighbors
The young mother of two went door to door in her town, begging neighbors for money in order to get her boyfriend out of jail. No details on the boyfriend’s jailing is known, but it seemed to be enough for Misty to try and sell her children after the neighborhood donations didn’t add up.
“She was going door to door, here to all the way across town asking everybody for money to get him out,” said Tony Mosby, a neighbor.
Seems like Facebook is being used for more than social networking as this is where Misty tried to sell her two kids! She contacted another woman through the social media site and asked for a grand total of $5,000 for both of her kids. Whoever said you can’t put a price on the worth of your child never met someone like Misty!
Police Arrested Misty & Set Bail
Police arrested Misty on the charge of trafficking children and her bail has been set at $40,000, which is eight-times the rate she was trying to sell her children for! Oh Misty, what were you thinking? Besides putting your boyfriend before the well-being of your children, of course.
Misty’s children are currently in the custody of the state of Oklahoma, where Misty was arrested.
