Hunter Hayes premiered his new song “I Want Crazy,” off his self-titled debut, Hunter Hayes (Encore), which is set for release June 18, during an electrifying performance at the Academy of Country Music Awards on April 7.
Hunter Hayes ‘I Want Crazy’ ACM Performance
Hunter, 21, took lead guitar during his performance and even walked into the crowd at one point, getting up close and personal with his fans.
Hunter was so cute on stage and had the words “let’s be crazy” scribbled across his guitar. His performance was filled with huge, personalized balloons and the song’s lyrics were printed on them. At the end, confetti spilled from the ceiling and a few special guests joined Hunter on stage.
Stevie Wonder, Luke Bryan & Blake Shelton Join Hunter Hayes On Stage
The performance got really exciting when previously announced special guest Stevie Wonder, along with hosts Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton, joined Hunter on stage. They performed Stevie’s hit “Sir Duke.” Hunter took lead vocals while Stevie brought out his own horn section for the song.
Hunter is a longtime fan of Stevie — he often covers the music legend’s songs during his concerts. This must’ve been a dream come true for the country music newbie!
