Chris Brown hit the lowest of lows in February 2009 when he infamously assaulted girlfriend Rihanna. In the years since then Chris has had other road bumps, but more and more lately he has appeared to be a rehabilitated man, focusing more on positive things like his charity and his music. Now, a source close to the R&B singer tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that Chris’ turnaround can be mostly attributed to Rihanna.
Rihanna Gave Chris Brown Confidence
“Chris was definitely in a tough spot after the assault,” the source acknowledges. “But patching things up with Rihanna really gave him the confidence to start focusing on his music again.” Rihanna, who got back together with Chris in January 2013, has always loved Chris for who he is. She accepts him, and obviously she is truly the only one he has to answer to about his past mistakes since they were against her.
The fact that she still loves him has reinvigorated Chris, the source says. “Now his career is hotter than ever because he feels like he has her blessing to be a star again.”
Chris Brown Is ‘Moving Forward’
Chris’ confidence since reuniting with Rihanna has been palpable. When he emerged out of the crowd for a surprise flash mob performance on Today on April, it was clear he felt accepted by the public.
And even more importantly, Chris’ newfound confidence has allowed him to mature and face his past head on. “Everything for me is moving forward,” Chris told Power 106 on March 29. “Every day is a learning step. I ain’t trying to go back down that road.”
This refreshing new attitude will definitely have an effect on Chris’ music and star power, the source asserts. “The industry is definitely anticipating for him to make a big impact with his new album coming out this summer.”
