Amar’e Stoudemire and his wife Alexis have a new addition to their family! The New York Knicks forward, 30, announced the arrival of the little one, a baby boy, via Twitter on May 22.
It’s Another Boy For Amar’e Stoudemire
The couple were married Dec. 12, 2012 in a secret ceremony, and already have three children together– Ar'e, 7, Amar'e Jr., 6, and Assata, 4. Amar’e shared the news of the baby on Twitter May 22.
“We are proud to announce we added a healthy baby boy to the Stoudemire team. Alexis and the baby are doing great. #Blessed,” he tweeted.
Family Is The Most Important Team For Amar’e
The power forward, who lost his father at the age of 12, makes being a good father his top priority. On the NBA star’s website, his wife shares just how important fatherhood is to Amar’e.
“Amar'e is always there. Because we hold our children's futures in our hands, it is our job as parents to nurture them and to show them what good parents are through education, involvement and leadership. Amar'e exudes this on so many levels and not only am I blessed to be married to him, but to be his best friend and for him to be the father of our three children.”
Amar’e And Alexis Are A Great Parenting Team
When the couple first announced they were expecting their fourth child, they told People magazine how they work as a team to keep their family close.
"She does it all," he told People. "She does such a phenomenal job with the kids. I'm just here to be the big teddy bear."
"As soon as Amar'e walks into the door those kids are all over him," she said. "He's like a big kid. He's a great dad."
