Plus, is there still hope for Rebekah & Matt? And why is Rebekah ‘jealous’ of Klaus?
Things seemed to be looking up for Rebekah (Claire Holt) on the season finale of The Vampire Diaries, but when she makes the leap to The Originals this fall, you can bet she’s in for a rude awakening — starting with the news that she’s going to be aunt! “We’ll see how happy she is about that,” Claire told HollywoodLife.com at The CW Upfront. “She’ll be a little jealous, right?”
Jealous, eh? Here’s hoping that means we can expect some serious cat fights between Bex and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin)!
Light A Candle For ‘Mattbekah’
While fans of Rebekah’s relationship with Matt (Zach Roerig) were initially crushed by the news that Bex would be heading to the Big Easy this fall, Claire told me not to count ‘Mattbekah’ out just yet!
“There’s a nice resolution to that story,” Claire said, referring to the couple’s little getaway on the season finale. “I think it still leaves the door open for more.”
Either way, the distance between their characters means Claire and Zach will be working together a lot less — a fact Claire is pretty bummed about.
“I’ve come to terms with it,” she admitted. “I’ve had my grieving period.”
Prepare For A ‘Desperate’ Rebekah
And even if things don’t work out with ‘Mattbekah,’ that doesn’t mean Rebekah is going to be a Single Sally forever. No, sir, Claire said she would expect her character to find romance — no matter what the cost.
“I feel like there’s always romance everywhere she goes, or at least she’s desperate for it, so I can’t imagine that’s going to ease off,” Claire said.
She also told me she wants the Mikaelsons to find peace on the new series, as she loves working with Joseph Morgan and Daniel Gillies:
“I hope she reconnects with her brothers, and they become … the three amigos again.”
(That makes two of us!)
