The singers might be split right now, but their hearts were certainly in the same place on May 12 when they both posted extremely heartwarming messages honoring their moms for the holiday.
No matter what’s going on in Rihanna and Chris Brown’s lives — grueling tour schedules, relationship struggles — they’ll always have family to fall back on. On May 12, Mother’s Day, the two superstar singers took to Twitter and wrote beautiful messages to their mothers.
Chris Brown: ‘Love You Mom’
Chris’ excitable and passionate personality was on display as he tweeted in tribute of his mom. “I wanna praise the woman who created me,” Chris wrote. “‘Momma Joyce’ happy Mother’s Day . Thank u for always letting me be creative and dream!Love you mom.”
Mother’s Day might be the one day a year that Chris lets go of his tough facade and turns into a real softie — it’s actually pretty adorable, right?
Rihanna’s Long Mother’s Day Tribute
Rihanna was just as endearing, but even more long-winded in her Mother’s Day message. Posting a picture of her mother on Instagram, Rihanna attached an essay of a caption:
Her attitude Rihanna, she got it from her mama!!!…. Happy Mother’s Day beautiful!! What a lucky little bitch I am to have come from you! You showed me real strength, how to be independent, how to love and be loved, not to judge people or their situations, how to forgive, how to learn from every mistake I make, how to be hospitable, how to do my makeup, cook, clean, not to lower my standards for anything or anyone! That’s enough to bring tears to a mother’s eye (though we’re not sure if we’ve ever referred to ourselves as “little bitches” in front of our moms).
It’s great that for at least one day Chris and Rihanna were able to their Twitter war to the side to acknowledge the ladies in their lives who had such a profound effect on them. That’s what Mother’s Day is all about!
