Chris Brown, 24, had an amazing 24th birthday celebration with two wild parties, but one person was missing from his perfect birthday weekend — Rihanna, 25. A source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that the couple could have worked out some way to see each other, but both of their egos got in the way!
The Real Reason Rihanna Didn’t Go To Chris’ Birthday Parties
“To be honest, they both could have made something work out if they really wanted to,” the source explains. “They are ego tripping. She wants s**t her way, and so does [he]. They bump heads all the time over stupid s**t but hey, that’s how they are.”
Chris & Rihanna Could Have Seen Each Other On His Birthday
“Chris definitely wanted to see her and chill, but he understands she’s on tour. He gets that,” the source says.
Although Chris wanted to see RiRi, the source reveals, “He could have traveled to see her, but he had events lined up and he wanted to party with the homies in Vegas, so he did that. There was a little beef over that — about who would be where and who would give in to see who — but when s**t didn’t work out they both were like f**k it.”
It sounds like Chris and Rihanna’s disagreement over his birthday may be a contributing factor to why the couple split. During an interview on May 5, Chris revealed that although he is “always gonna love” Rihanna, he just needs to focus on himself right now.
“People have differences and people have different wants and needs,” he says. “At the end of the day she's a young girl. I can't be focused on wife-ing somebody that young… and I'm young too.”
