Chris Brown Wins 'Fandemonium' Award At 2013 BET Awards Jul 1st 2013, 03:48, by Andy Swift Plus, Chris tells Team Breezy not to pay attention to ‘the bull in the news.’ He may not have won Best Male R&B/Pop Artist, but Chris Brown didn’t leave the 2013 BET Awards a total loser. The “Fine China” singer took home the “Fandemonium” Award, given to the artist whose fans remain relentlessly supportive — no matter how many times one ends up in the media for bad behavior. Chris took advantage of his time on the stage to express his concern over how he’s being portrayed in the media: Don’t read the bull in the news, I’m a real dude. This is actually the fourth year in a row Chris has taken home this award, having previously taken it home in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Chris Brown Performs With Nicki Minaj At 2013 BET Awards Chris didn’t just end the show on a high note; he also started the show with a killer performance, alongside Nicki Minaj. He kicked off his set with “Fine China,” followed by a tribute to Aaliyah with “Don’t Think They Know.” Originally, Chris has planned to perform a throw-back to his earlier days, a source told HollywoodLife.com. Sadly, he decided to change his mind. Here was his original plan, per our source: He's debating about doing a dance beat [and] might just take it back and hit them with one of his old school cuts, like 'Run It' from 2005. That was like eight years ago, a time when everybody loved him and he didn't have a care in the world. … [Chris is] thinking that if he goes back in time and performs a song from when he first hit the scene, people will remember him for his music and his talent, rather than for the drama that he's been caught up in recently [i.e. his recent hit-and-run charges].
