It’s suit and tie time! The sexy singer took the stage at the BET Awards on June 30 and completely tore the house down in a star-studded performance in honor of soul singer Charlie Wilson.
Rap and hip-hop might get the most attention at the BET Awards, but Justin Timberlake – with the help of a few famous friends – reminded us all how sweet R&B can be too.
Justin Timberlake’s BET Awards Performance With Charlie Wilson
Justin was decked out in his usual, perfectly-tailored suit — all black everything for the occasion — and flanked by Pharrell Williams and Snoop Dogg, JT performed a totally fun medley of classics to celebrate the career of soul icon Charlie Wilson.
Justin first presented the soul legend with the Lifetime Achievement award for four decades of amazing work in the music industry. And thankfully after Charlie’s acceptance speech, Justin was able to convince him to take the stage for an amazing ensemble performance.
It’s clear that Justin has learned a lot from the icon. His voice might be higher, but Justin’s got as much soul in his bones as Charlie, and we love watching him put it all out there.
Justin and company ripped through classics like Snoop’s “Beautiful” and “Signs,” and the funktastic banger “You Dropped A Bomb On Me” by Charlie’s The Gap Band.
Seeing JT’s high energy performance you’d never guess that he was actually going home a loser. The 32-year-old singer was up for Best Male R&B Artist but lost out to Miguel. If you ask us though, Justin is a winner every night. Especially in a suit that looks that good.
