The birth of the royal baby is just about a month away, and the anticipation is constantly building! With the end of her pregnancy drawing near, the Duchess is taking all the precautions she can — including making plans for an emergency birth.
Kate Middleton, 31, has made pregnancy look easy and classy since she and Prince William, 30, announced in December that they were expecting their first child together. But the mom-to-be still wants to make sure everything goes smoothly once the baby comes.
Kate Middleton Makes Emergency Birth Plans
Kate is taking things easier as she approaches her July due date, while William, 30, is finishing his duties for the Royal Air Force in Anglesey, Wales. During the busy time, the Duchess is splitting her time between the couple’s Welsh home and London’s Nottingham Cottage. An insider tells Us Weekly:
Catherine wants to be near William in the final weeks. It’s important to her.
The only problem is, in order to be near William, she has to stay at their home in Anglesey — almost 300 miles from Kate’s London-based doctor, which could become a problem if Kate goes into labor early. But never fear, the palace already has an emergency plan: a helicopter will fly her to London’s St. Mary’s Hospital, which is only 70 minutes away.
Kate Middleton Hopes For A Natural Birth
Wherever she ends up giving birth, she hopes to do so naturally. If there are complications, though, “she will have a C-section,” the source says.
No matter the form of delivery, the birth of the royal baby will be announced both traditionally and modernly. Along with a traditional bulletin that will be posted on the gates of Buckingham Palace pronouncing, “Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a child,” a palace aide reveals to Us a more modern way the birth will also be announced. The palace aide says:
There will be gun salutes, flag flying and bell pealing. It’s very exciting.
As much as we hope Kate doesn’t have to deal with any kind of emergency, we’re glad to hear she has a plan all figured out so the royal baby can be delivered safely. We can’t wait for the time to come!
