LL has some advice for the Biebs! The ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ star tells HollywoodLife.com that mega-star Justin shouldn’t always try so hard to be cool. Way to tell it straight, LL!
LL Cool J got his “dad” on June 11 as he hosted the Bing It On Father’s Day Challenge at The Standard High Line in NYC, and he talked to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY about what it was like growing up in the entertainment industry. He even shared some advice for young stars like Justin Bieber!
LL Tells Justin: Don’t ‘Overdo’ Trying To Be Cool
LL says he can relate to Justin’s spotlight struggles, as he also grew up in the industry at a young age; sometimes, you just need to get a new perspective:
Sometimes you just gotta take a step back and remember why you got into it, and not get caught up in [the nonsense.] When you’re cool, you don’t have to try to be. If you’re cool, you don’t have to try to be cool; it’s just cool. So you don’t have to overdo it to seem like making it more than it is, you know, but that’s just little kid stuff.
He also offered some advice for the young stars on what NOT to do.
What you DON’T want to do is make a mistake and get hooked on some drug, or make a mistake and blow all your money, or make a mistake and cross the line somewhere that you can’t get back over from.
‘Mistakes’ Young Stars Make Will Make Them More ‘Mature’
LL also talked about how it’s okay for Hollywood’s young stars to make mistakes; it will ultimately help them in the end.
People make mistakes. I mean, I did a lot of crazy stuff when I was 17, 18, 19. We just didn’t have Twitter and TMZ and all that crazy stuff. They weren’t chasing us around, so, they’ll get over it; they’ll mature out of it.
