Selena chatted with fans during an hour-long livestream on June 3 and revealed some in-depth details about her upcoming album, ‘Stars Dance.’ So just how many of the songs on the album were inspired by her roller coaster relationship with Justin?
Everyone knows that musicians are inspired by relationship turmoil. It seems that Selena Gomez milked every drop of inspiration from her on-again, off-again relationship with Justin Bieber. The “Come & Get It” singer gave a track-by-track breakdown of her new album Stars Dance and we could not help but notice a recurring theme!
Selena Gomez: Pulling From Justin Bieber Experiences?
Based on what Selena says, Stars Dance will be like taking a ride through the brightest and darkest moments of a relationship (and we all know where she got the experience).
Let’s start with the good. Talking about the song “Write Your Name,” Selena said, “There’s this feeling that every girl gets when you’re falling in love or you think you’re falling in love. That’s what this song is about.” How cute!
And obviously the album closer “Love Will Remember” has to do with Selena’s past romantic experiences. But the song isn’t as straightforward as you’d assume — it also touches on how love seems to stick around despite arguments and doubts. “There are moments when you want answers but you’re glad you’ve experienced them… At the end of the day, love will remember,” Selena said.
Selena also seems to be singing about how her relationship with Justin sometimes hit levels of perfection on the song, “Save The Day”: “Do you ever have moments where you don’t ever want them to end? I’ve had those moments. It’s about saving those moments and never wanting it to go away,” the singer revealed.
Selena Gomez Singing About Forgetting The Past On ‘Stars Dance’
But Stars Dance isn’t all about the good parts of being in love. Selena admits that her album will also touch on the pain. “Forget Forever” in particular is about letting go of the past that she seems to hold so fondly in “Save The Day,” and it seems to embody most how she’s feeling at the moment.
“That is like my anthem,” Selena said about the song. “It’s forgetting all the troubles, about the past, just enjoying everything else. That’s my anthem for sure.” Oh boy, “Forget Forever” is definitely going to make Justin’s ears ring!
