Famous ladies man Simon Cowell, 53, dated Carmen Electra in late 2012 and the two are obviously still friends, because Carmen was absolutely thrilled to hear that Simon is going to be a father!
Carmen Electra: Simon Cowell Will Make A Wonderful Dad
Carmen, 41, says she has personally witnessed Simon stand up for and support the people he truly believes in on Britain’s Got Talent and The X Factor, and she knows that his loyalty will make him a fantastic father.
“The impact that he has with The X Factor, it really shows who Simon is and it shows that he really cares about the kids on the show — he takes care of them,” Carmen told HollywoodLife.com at the VH1 Do Something Awards in Hollywood on July 31. “So I obviously think that his child will be very well taken care of and very, very loved.”
How sweet! Carmen said she was really surprised — and also very curious — when news broke that Simon will be welcoming a baby with New York City socialite Lauren Silverman, his friend Andrew Silverman‘s separated wife.
“I have to call him after this when I get in the car,” Carmen exclaimed. “I want to know if it is a boy or girl!”
“It’s so awesome — I am happy for him,” she added. “He is lovely!”

Simon and Lauren are expecting their first child together, according to inside sources!
“She’s around 10 weeks along,” an insider tells Us Weekly.
Lauren, 36, is technically married to Andrew, a real estate developer and close personal friend of Simon, but their divorce has been a long time coming.
“Lauren and Andrew have been unhappy in their marriage for some time, and their divorce has been in the works for a while. As their marriage deteriorated, she and Simon became close,” reports Us Weekly.
Sources close to the pair reveal they have been seeing each other for about a year.
