Ellie, like every 1D love interest before her, is learning that the Directioners can be pretty protective of their boys. But is she actually willing to put up with all the criticism for a shot at love with Niall?
After a report came out claiming that One Direction singer Niall Horan made out with Ellie Goulding at the V Festival in England on Aug. 18, fans have been more than a little nasty towards her. But the “Lights” singer seems to be suggesting that all the hate could be worth it!
Ellie Goulding: Trying To Keep Her Niall Horan Relationship Private?
In a new interview Ellie, 26, revealed that she has received a considerable amount of hate from Directioners on Twitter for smooching Niall, 19. “Oh God, I knew this was coming,” she told The Mirror.
And though Ellie didn’t confirm or deny a romance with Niall, the way she talked seemed to suggest that it’s at least a possibility. “I won’t ever talk about my love life anymore because it’s always then gone wrong when I have in the past,” Ellie said — so at least she consider Niall part of her “love life”!
“But I will say this,” Ellie added, “I’ve definitely had some interesting tweets since the story came out.”

Niall has also recently been quoted talking about the possible fling, and he has been just as enigmatic! “She has a boyfriend,” Niall told Us Weekly, “But she’s still out there!”
Here’s the thing though — Ellie reportedly broke up with her latest boyfriend, Jeremy Irvine, in July, so what was Niall talking about? Was he just playing coy?
