Now that the cast of ‘Glee’ has begun filming the tribute episode to Cory Monteith, emotions are running even higher. And when it comes to Lea, a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that she still cries every day over the tragic loss.
HollywoodLife.com has EXCLUSIVELY learned that as Glee filming kicks into high gear, Lea Michele’s emotional status is still (understandably) fragile. Though she is back filming and showing a brave face, the death of her boyfriend, Cory Monteith, is still fresh on her mind.
Lea Michele Remains Emotional Over Cory Monteith’s Death
Fans are still drying their eyes after Lea’s gut-wrenching speech at the Teen Choice Awards on Aug. 11, so just imagine how she is feeling!
A source close to Lea tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively that she is still suffering, but looked at her TCA appearance as just another hurdle to leap on the way to getting better. “She saw her speech on the Teen Choice Awards as one more step to recovery,” the source explains. “She will never forget things obviously with Cory but she is making it her mission to show a strong and brave face as things continue. She doesn’t want people to feel bad for her forever, but she appreciates it.”
It seems that getting out — especially to work on the set of Glee – is helping her cope, but the source says Lea still has moments where she is overcome by Cory’s death. ”She has been around so many friends and cast members that its been easier to adapt as the days have gone on. But she still has one good cry per day,” says the insider.

But after shedding some tears, Lea is able to continue to move forward and make more indelible moments on Glee – just how Cory would have wanted, the source says: “The great thing that she loves right now is that she is working on the show she loves with the legacy of Cory on the line, as he was and is the love of her life. “
The emotion Lea is showing is clearly real, raw and needed. We only hope that she heals just a bit more each and every day. And with the help of her friends and fans, we know that will happen!
