Anyone could guess that K-Stew feels most comfortable when her hair and makeup is kept as natural as possible. Her makeup artist explains the go-to styles Kristen asks for most — and what she tries to avoid.
Kristen Stewart, 22, is the queen of low maintenance, casual hair and makeup looks. Her effortless style is usually enhanced for red carpet events with only with a pop of red lipstick or sultry smokey eye makeup. Her makeup artist, Jillian Dempsey, even admits to InStyle Magazine that “Kristen will never beg me to do a red lip.” Read on for a breakdown of Kristen’s signature, breezy style!
While bright red lips are a major trend among Hollywood’s hottest starlets — and the style definitely looks great on Kristen — it’s a look that Kristen can do without. Red lipstick amps up an otherwise simple makeup look and delivers glamorous results in a quick and easy way that even Kristen can get behind … if she must. Still, she prefers her natural style. With a natural look like hers, who could blame her?
Celebrity Makeup Artist Jillian Dempsey credits Kristen’s amazing flawless complexion for keeping Kristen looking radiant, even makeup-free. “Her skin is porcelain—a dream,” Jillian raves. “She doesn't like to conceal her freckles, so we do a very sheer application of makeup."
Even when Kristen is all done up for a fancy red carpet appearance, her makeup still does not feel too stuffy or overdone. "She'd be the perfect face for a campaign for second-day makeup," says Jillian. "When hers wears off, she still looks insanely gorgeous." While we would definitely recommend making a habit out of taking off your own makeup before you go to sleep each night, we agree that disheveled and smudgy makeup only enhances Kristen’s rocker-girl vibe.
