The star dressed like a sleek black cat, putting her curves on full display in a monochrome outfit for the opening night of the Broadway play. Did you like her look?
Scarlett Johansson has taken on the role of ‘Maggie the Cat’ in the Broadway revival of Tennessee Williams’ Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, which opened in NYC at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on Jan. 17. While on stage she sizzles in a slew of sexy looks that contribute to the despair felt by the female lead, for the opening party at The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers, ScarJo opted for a totally different ensemble. However, her all-black outfit made her appear sleek and chic, just like a cat!
The star flaunted her signature curves in an all-black Dolce & Gabbana get-up. ScarJo paired her linen short-sleeved top, (complete with crochet detailing), with a fitted pair of black pants. A bright red lip accentuated the star’s full pout and really made the outfit pop, as did her red nails.
Scarlett kept the look vibrant, accessorizing with statement turquoise and silver earrings. With her hair styled in an updo, it added a dressed up vibe to the chic separates and her earrings really stood out!
On stage ScarJo’s look is completed different from what she showed off at the party. As Maggie she saunters around in an ivory slip and cat eyeliner with her auburn hair perfectly curled, framing her face. When she isn’t in a slip, a sweet A-line ’50s frock accentuates her curves.
Scarlett isn’t the first screen siren to take on the role of Maggie. In fact, in the 1958 film adaptation the role was famously played by Elizabeth Taylor. Scarlett is set to star on Broadway in a 15-week run.
What do you think of her outfit last night? The get-up was very New York City-chic and I loved it, but I also wouldn’t have minded if she turned up in a fun frock. What do you think?
