Jan. 21 was a momentous day in Washington D.C., as President Barack Obama was sworn in for a second term as President of the United States. But the night of the 57th Inauguration was just as eventful! After a busy day making speeches, walking in parades, and dancing with First Lady Michelle Obama,the president decided to get down at the exclusive White House after party! Michelle even joined him and a bunch of other celebrity guests to dance to Beyonce‘s hit “Single Ladies”. How fun!
The Wild After Party At The White House
Michelle and Barack attended 2013 Inaugural ball at the Washington Convention Center early in the evening, where they had their celebratory dance as Jennifer Hudson serenaded them with Al Green‘s hit “Let’s Stay Together.” And the dancing didn’t stop there! The First Couple left the ball at 10.30pm, and they invited hundreds of guests back to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue for an exclusive after party, which was still hopping at 3am.
And there was some serious star power at the party! Singers John Legend, John Mayer, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Keys, Swiss Beatz and Eric Benet all attended, and if their tweets are anything to go by, it was a wild night!
Chrissy Teigen tweeted ”I don’t even know what to say. It’s 3:15am and I just teared up seeing our president getting down at the white house.” The model attended the party with her boyfriend and long time Obama supporter John Legend.
American Idol winner Kelly, who had performed at the President’s Inauguration earlier that day, tweeted just before midnight: “Just partied at the White House. I kid you not, Michelle Obama stood up and got the party started…seriously cool First Lady.”
“Just left the White House. All other parties from here on our will be judged unless they take place at the White House.” tweeted Katy, who attended the swearing in ceremony with her boyfriend John.
Michelle Obama Dances To ‘Single Ladies’
Michelle was apparently the life and soul of the party, as she got down to Beyonce’s hit! Sadly Beyonce and Jay-Z were not seen at the party — perhaps Beyonce was too tired after singing the National Anthem that day.
Singer India Benet tweeted “DANCING WITH THE FIRST LADY TO SINGLE LADIES!!! WHAT IS LIFE??!!?? @ The White House.” Nice work Michelle!
