Taylor and Harry avoided an awkward encounter at the NRJ Music Awards on Jan. 26 by ‘making sure they didn’t do the carpet at the same time,’ among other things, according to a new report. Read on for all the details!
Taylor Swift and Harry Styles could have had an awkward run-in at the NRJ Music Awards on Jan. 26, but they were very strategic in making sure to avoid each another.
“It was very carefully timed so they didn’t do the carpet at the same time,” an insider tells Us Weekly. “Taylor didn’t do any backstage interviews and didn’t use a dressing room — she changed at the hotel because she didn’t want to see Harry at any point. …Things were timed to keep them apart and for it to not become a big media circus.”
Whether or not Taylor and Harry ran into each other, there certainly was a lot to talk about the following day. ”We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” the song Taylor performed at the awards show, is reportedly about Taylor’s other ex Jake Gyllenhaal, but it appeared to be directed at Harry this time around.
“She was talking in French on the microphone saying, ‘So he calls me up and he’s like ‘je t’aime, je ‘t’aime toujours … je ne sais pas [I love you, I still love you, I don't know]. No! We are never ever getting back together, like ever!’” an eyewitness tells Us Weekly of Taylor’s performance.
Taylor was so passionate when she sang the lyrics, “We are never getting back together, like ever” — harder than usual. I’d hate to be Harry at that moment.
Harry, 18, did seem quieter and more solemn than usual, when he walked the red carpet in Cannes, France. Moments before he arrived with One Direction, Taylor walked the carpet in a sexy “revenge” dress.
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Should Harry regret breaking up with Taylor?
