The ‘Deception’ star made no bones about his sexuality during a recent interview. Good for him!
Victor Garber may have made a career out of playing shady characters, both on TV and in movies, but his personal life is apparently an open book. His rumored relationship with boyfriend Rainer Andreesen was casually mentioned during a recent interview with Greg In Hollywood, to which Victor responded, “I don't really talk about it, but everybody knows.”
In fact, Victor confirmed that Rainer will be joining him Jan. 27 in Los Angeles for the Screen Actors Guild Awards. We’d love to see them walk the red carpet together as a couple!
And it might surprise you to learn this isn’t the first time Victor has talked, on record, about being with Rainer.
“My companion Rainer Andreesen and I have been together almost 13 years in Greenwich Village,” he told Canada’s Forever Young back in April 2012. “We both love New York.”
Other Stars Who ‘Recently’ Came Out
Victor, 63, may be the latest celebrity to publicly discuss his sexuality, but he’s hardly the first. Jodie Foster made headlines Jan. 13 with her pseudo coming out speech at the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards.
“I already did my coming out about a thousand years ago in the stone age,” Jodie said. “Back in the days when a fragile young girl would open up to trusted friends and family and co-workers and then gradually proudly to everyone who knew her, to everyone she actually met.”
She also gave a shout out to ex-girlfriend Cydney Bernard, whom she referred to as her “righteous soul sister in life.”
Famed newsman Anderson Cooper also casually came out as part of a July 2012 Daily Beast article.
“The fact is, I'm gay, always have been, always will be, and I couldn't be any more happy, comfortable with myself, and proud,” he wrote.
HollywoodLifers, are you surprised to learn that Victor is gay? Or are you just happy for him?
