Oprah Winfrey‘s much buzzed-about interview with alleged doper and world-class cyclist Lance Armstrong is now a two-night event.
“Oprah and Lance Armstrong: The Worldwide Exclusive” – a special episode of Oprah’s Next Chapter — now will air Thursday at 9/8c and Friday at 9 pm on the Oprah Winfrey Network.
Sources briefed on the interview told The New York Times Monday that seven-time Tour de France winner Armstrong does indeed admit to using performance-enhancing drugs during his cycling career.
Winfrey taped the discussion Monday in Austin, Texas, where Armstrong lives. “Just wrapped with @lancearmstrong More than 2 ½ hours. He came READY!” she tweeted afterward.
Winfrey’s talk with the athlete is his first since the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, in light of a report that accused him of doping throughout his career, gave him a lifetime ban on competing professionally. Not long after, he resigned as chairman of his Livestrong cancer foundation.
