It was the 450th episode of ‘American Idol’ on March 28 and although it showed the incredible success of the show, it also meant another ‘Idol’ hopeful was sent home.

After the top 8 sang songs from Motown on March 27, judges Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey, Keith Urban and Randy Jackson had to wait and see what happened on the results show on March 28. America’s votes determined the bottom three…see who was in jeopardy below.

Mentor Jimmy Iovine critiqued the top 8 and said he thought Lazaro was going home.

Before The Results — Three Stellar Performances

11th season contestant Colton Dixon sang his new single “Love Has Come For Me.”

One Republic sang “If I Lose Myself” featuring Katherine McPhee from season five.

Idol judge Keith Urban also debuted his newest single, “Long Hot Summer.”

‘American Idol’ Results — Bottom Three Revealed

Kree Harrison, Candice Glover, Janelle Arthur, Angie Miller, and Amber Holcom were all named safe.

Meaning, all five girls were safe and all three guys — Devin, Burnell and Lazaro — were in the bottom three!

Burnell was named safe. Then, Lazaro was also saved.

In the end, 26 million votes left Devin in the bottom spot. He sang “It’s Impossible,” half in Spanish and half in English, but the judges were not unanimous and he was sent packing.

According to Twitter, 65 percent of fans thought the judges should have use the save! The crowd was also chanting “Save! Save! Save!” But Devin Velez was eliminated.

Mariah Carey was actually crying during his performance and Mariah, Keith and Randy gave Devin a standing ovation.
